What’s this

It’s a series of three posts which will introduce you into webpack for real-world tasks. It’s a result of a year of configuring Webpack in a complex environment, reading GitHub issues, sorting out StackOverflow questions and digging into sources. It will guide you from setting up bundling to optimizing the front-end speed to improving the development workflow. The real experience and non-obvious nuances are included.

About me

I’m  Ivan Akulov, a senior software engineer at EPAM. I’m working on a company’s internal project which has 250 thousands lines of front-end code. In 2016 we started a migration from a self-designed framework to React and Webpack, and we’re gradually continuing it since then.
